China’s Bitmain to Start Producing Mining Equipment in the US

Bitmain, the world’s largest cryptocurrency mining equipment maker, plans to open its first factory in the United States in the coming months, according to the American publication Bloomberg.

Bitmain’s global business director, Irene Gao, said the Chinese company plans to open a new headquarters and production line in Texas or Florida by the end of the third quarter. Production is expected to begin in early 2026 and reach full capacity by the end of next year.

The mining equipment giant plans to hire 250 local employees to work in both production and maintenance facilities at the new plants, Gao said.

Even though labor costs in the U.S. are higher than in other countries, the business case remains compelling, especially given potential uncertainty over tariffs, Irene Gao told Bloomberg.

Building a facility in the US could be Bitmain’s only option to sell its equipment to American customers as the new Donald Trump administration pushes for all high-tech products to be manufactured locally.
